Yoga in La Saladita — public classes in an open-air shala
Templo Saladita · September 2026 · ~3 min read
There is public yoga in La Saladita three times a week. Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 5 PM, taught by Ana in an open-air shala, open to anyone in the community — not only to people staying on the property.

The schedule
Yin Yoga on Sunday and Wednesday, Gentle Flow on Friday — all at 5 PM, taught by Ana in the hexagonal screened shala, which seats sixteen. Late afternoon is deliberate: the heat has come off the day and the light through the palms is the best of it.
Bring nothing. The shala is fully equipped — Manduka mats, bolsters, cork blocks, straps and Mexican blankets. You can walk in off the beach and practise.
Who the classes are for
These are community classes. You do not need to be staying at Templo Saladita to attend — people staying elsewhere in La Saladita, visitors over from Troncones, and people who live here year-round are all welcome. If you are travelling and want a practice that isn't a retreat package, this is that.
What it costs, and where the money goes
The class is run on a non-profit basis. Everything paid goes directly to Ana, who teaches it. Templo Saladita provides the shala and the equipment and takes nothing from the class. It is a community practice that happens to be held on the property, not a revenue line for it.
Private classes
Ana also teaches private sessions, which can be arranged for groups — a family travelling together, a handful of friends on a surf trip, or a small group wanting a practice at a time that suits them rather than the community schedule. Ask at Templo Saladita to arrange one with her.
What is for guests only
To be clear about what is and isn't public: the barrel sauna, the Plunge ice bath, the pool and the air-conditioned gym are reserved for guests staying on site. The sauna and plunge sit together beside the pool and are shared by both cabins. The yoga classes are the part open to the wider community.
Guests also have the shala itself outside class hours: sixteen mats, open any time through a stay for your own practice, not only when a class is running.
Getting there
La Saladita sits on the Guerrero coast about 45 minutes north of Zihuatanejo (ZIH), in the municipality of La Unión de Isidoro Montes de Oca. The shala is on the Templo Saladita grounds along the lagoon side.
Stay one minute from the wave
Two private cabins on the lagoon, sharing a pool, barrel sauna, ice bath, gym and yoga shala. Read about the Treehouse or the Poolhouse, or check dates on Airbnb.
